Jane asked:

[Patrick brought up a question that wasn't answered when Jane originally asked about a friend of hers who experienced healing through a process called reiki. When the friend was told this was something they shouldn't have done, they replied that it worked.]

Sharon Lee Giganti replied:

"What you would want to do is recall that scripture which says, what would you benefit to gain the whole world but lose your soul? And also when something works that does not mean that that's the measuring stick about whether or not it's healthy or holy...

Let me share with your from Mark 13:21. The scripture reads, false Christs and false prophets will arise and produce signs and wonders so great as to deceive the elect if that were possible. And then in second Thessalonians, the power of satan in every might deed and in signs and wonders that lie is a deceiving power at work ...

I know that one of our good exorcist priests, who wrote the book Interview with an Exorcist wrote, I'm going to quote directly from his book: 'strictly speaking any paranormal effect achieved through magic is accomplished through the intervention of demons not as a result of particular person's magical powers. Even if those who practice magic, witches, sorcerers, seers, even if they deny it or even if they are unaware of it, the devil is behind all their works and the very magic that they practice in the end opens them up to demonic influence and even possession.'

Now thats in the cases where the demonic is involved. And that we simply just don't know. If you get healed, and you happen to have done reiki it could have been that the healing was coming whether or not you did reiki or not. We just don't want to take the risk Patrick. I know I don't. "

2 Thessalonians 2
9 The coming of the lawless one by the activity of Satan will be with all power and with pretended signs and wonders, 10 and with all wicked deception for those who are to perish, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 Therefore God sends upon them a strong delusion, to make them believe what is false, 12 so that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
